Howdy folks!

Many of you are familiar with a tune I wrote several years ago called McGuire's Landing I've been touched by the many, many requests I get to perform this piece in concert all over the world. It has been recorded several times by different artists and that in itself is an honor. There was even a contest in Italy in 2009 for people to learn it on guitar and send in videos of themselves performing it and I was to judge the best. What a treat!

Back when I was playing guitar for John Denver, he heard a recording of McGuire's Landing and he asked me what pictures I had in my mind when I wrote it. I told him rather reluctantly and he just smiled and said he'd like to write the lyrics for it. I was excited to say least. Unfortunately, he passed away before he got the chance to write those lyrics.

Over the years, people have asked what I told him and I've always kept it to myself. I've always liked the idea of people seeing or picturing or having their own vision when listening to music. To tell them what I think they should see is to limit their own experience. Well, to tell you the truth what I told John was nothing amazing and in fact many people have had similar pictures in their mind when they hear McGuire's Landing.

I'm now ready to tell the story of McGuire's Landing. Who is McGuire? What is McGuire's Landing? Where is it located? What does it mean? But it's not just one tune any longer. It is an entire CD's worth of music with songs and instrumentals and a short story to go along with it. This is going to be an expensive project to produce and this is where you come in. ;-)

Art is important but it is also, at times, costly. This project will require hiring a string arranger, several musicians, different studios for recording and mixing and a few other things which make it not feasible for me to take it on alone.
